Achilles has established a world-class reputation for manufacturing one of the highest quality inflatable boats in the world as well as being the only inflatable boat manufacturers that also produce their own fabric.

ACHILLES WORLDWIDE

Achilles has been designing and manufacturing boats in Japan, from their own brand of Hypalon, since the 1960’s. Since then, Achilles has greatly expanded across the globe establishing local production plants in various regions of USA, Africa, Asia & Australia. These Achilles owned and operated production plants allows them to maintain complete quality control over every aspect of production, resulting in a superior level of craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail that is often associated with Japanese culture.

ACHILLES FABRIC

For over 40 years Achilles has been setting the standard for inflatable boat fabric using our customized formula combining tough and airtight elastomer coatings over a heavy duty Nylon or Polyester core fabric. Today, Achilles Fabric continues to set the standard by using an exterior coating of chlorosulphonated polyethylene, or CSM, for its unsurpassed durability and two interior layers of Chloroprene for its remarkable air tightness.

At the heart of Japanese craftsmanship, often termed monozukuri, meaning “the art of making things,” is a steadfast dedication to quality, artistic integrity, and the preservation of traditional methods.

The Achilles manufacturing process for inflatable boats highlights the dedication to Japanese craftsmanship with each part being carefully hand-glued and assembled.

DISASTER RESPONSE

Our inflatable boats have been primarily designed and built to be utilised in disaster prevention and lifesaving activities. We are a primary provider for National Parks & Wildlife, Marine Rescue, Water Police, and Surf Life Saving Australia. Achilles Inflatable Boats are one of just three authorized suppliers of inflatable rescue boats to all SLSA clubs throughout Australia, a status we have held for the past three decades.

Our inflatable boats have proven to be vital tools during times of crisis and emergency situations, showcasing their ability to be swiftly deployed, navigate through rough waters, and reach isolated individuals in challenging conditions.

All of our vessels are constructed using identical materials and methods as our Search and Rescue boats, right down to our smallest 2-person dinghy.

We recognise the individual needs and specifications of each boat owner, agency, department, and organisation. Therefore, our focus is on constantly innovating and creating unique designs and engineering solutions to ensure that each customer receives a vessel that is mission-ready and perfectly suited to their needs.

Our seams are overlapped a full inch and reinforced with seam tape both inside and out. No one else takes so many steps to ensure seams will last.
